Looking For Wisdom (Teeth?)

So, I am getting my wisdom teeth out soon, and needless to say I am not looking forward to it! I am anticipating a lot of Ice Cream and Yogurt! My mom makes these really yummy smoothies using frozen fruit and and yogurt, but that can get a little monotonous. Do you have any favorite smoothie recipes? Or any tips, suggestions, or ideas for soft food? Thanks!

I was the queen of applesauce when I had mine out. Actually, I had all 4 wisdom teeth plus 2 others cut out when I was 20, I was put under for that. I had lots of Mott's applesauce, in every flavor they come in so it wasn't the same every time. Ice cream, Jello, mashed potatoes. I am the queen of soft food. My celiac *before diagnosis& caused me to lose ALL the enamel on my teeth, no matter how hard i tried to brush them and keep them clean and such. A year ago in September, I had all of my teeth removed and now have dentures. Yeah dentures at the age of 27! However I feel better and eat better with them. If you like pineapple and have an ice cream maker, I can give you my recipe for Pineapple ice cream...omg it is to die for!!! Oh and small curd cottage cheese is good too =) Basically anything soft that you can mash to the roof of your mouth are the best options. Just make sure you irrigate where they took them out after eating to be sure no food is stuck inside the holes.

Wow, thanks for all the tips! I would love that recipe, Pineapple and ice cream are quite possibly my two favorite foods! Thanks! And I do believe I will be following you down the applesauce path!

Creamy Chunky Pineapple Ice Cream

4 eggs
8oz Cool Whip
2 small boxes vanilla jello pudding mix
2 cups sugar
1 T GF Vanilla
2 sm cans crushed or diced pineapple
Milk

I usually mix everything in the metal container, unless it is one you have to freeze first, then use a seperate bowl. Beat eggs, add 1/4 C milk and whipped cream. Mix till completely blended. Add 1 box of pudding, mix, then add second box. Mix well. Add one C Sugar, mix, then second cup of sugar and vanilla, mix well. Add un-drained pineapple, mix well, then add milk to fill line. Mix all ingredients well. Follow ice cream maker directions and sit back. It will end up being creamy, put it in a gallon bucket or any other freezer container. It is so sweet and good!!! Enjoy =)
