French Fries

The salt. The flavor. The yumminess. And the oh-so infrequently GF! :) So, who else does it drive crazy to be driving along, and see a fast food place advertising their fries, or chicken, or burgers? That drives me crazy. To be completely honest, I don't really miss the burgers, but the FRIES! I love fast food fries. Love them, I tell you. LOVE THEM. But, because the industry is usually to miserly to put in separate fryers for the breaded chicken and the fries, they are losing a growing customer base. (Poop on you, fast food!) So we make do with the bagged, frozen, fries you buy at the grocery store. I do know that Wendy's fries are GF, so that is very helpful. Mainly though, I just get some sort of cold, creamy beverage(milkshakes, frappes), when we must go to fast food joints. Pack a lunchbox is my creed.

Both the Burger King and McDonalds in my area use seperate fryers. They also have them seperated by three feet to make sure the grease doesnt hop while splattering. I went up and just asked them if they used seperate fryers and they told me yes and even let me go back to show me since i told them if not they were going to lose business

Something to be aware of...some fast food places coat their fries with wheat at the packing plant to make them "extra crispy". I've heard McD's listed in that group, though I haven't checked it out. It's something you might want to check on though, before partaking :)

McD's French Fries:
Potatoes, vegetable oil (canola oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, natural beef flavor [wheat and milk derivatives]*, citric acid [preservative]), dextrose, sodium acid pyrophosphate (maintain color), salt. Prepared in vegetable oil (Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness). Dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent.
CONTAINS: WHEAT AND MILK *(Natural beef flavor contains hydrolyzed wheat and hydrolyzed milk as starting ingredients).

Ty's mom- you were right, thanks for mentioning it, I did not know that, ok so no more McD's french fries but i just looked at my nutrition guide for BK and they use rice flour on theirs, and I know Arby's homestyle fries are, they list all the allergens in their food on their nutrition guide as well as BK
